the latest acquisitions\u00a0and the company\u2019s strong position in the various markets in which it operates in Iberia, gross sales under\u00a0banner rose by 10.5% to EUR6.738bn, and in the emerging market segment (Argentina, Brazil and China)\u00a0sales reached EUR3.808bn, up 20% in local currency.<br \/><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-9ae01a9 ); letter-spacing: 0.2px; word-spacing: normal;\">In Spain, gross sales under banner rose by 13.3% to EUR5.915bn.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-9ae01a9 ); letter-spacing: 0.2px; word-spacing: normal;\">\u201cDIA accelerated sales growth in 2015, gaining market share both in Iberia and Emerging\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-9ae01a9 ); letter-spacing: 0.2px; Note that<br \/>last year the company opened a record number of franchises, with 612 new stores managed by<br \/>franchisees.<br \/>At the end of the year, underlying net profit reached EUR254m, 3.8% less than in 2014 due to the<br \/>impact of the integration of acquisitions.
