This recognition reflects the effort made by the company so that the value proposition it offers its employees generates a real and lasting bond, taking care of the people who make it possible for the company to keep growing every day.
In the words of Joana Neto, Chief People & Culture Officer at Grupo Dia: “I am immensely proud and grateful for the effort the entire Dia Spain team has put in to ensure our People & Culture strategy marks this milestone as part of the ‘Growing Every Day’ strategic plan. We have championed a simpler, more efficient organisation with inspiring leadership that empowers our talent to grow and give their absolute best.”
The company creates and promotes listening spaces, such as the Engagement Survey, which is carried out periodically to ascertain the level of satisfaction and perception of employees, as well as specific plans to learn first-hand about the situations in stores, warehouses and offices. These actions give rise to action plans whose objective is to improve the employee experience within the company.
These measures are part of a People and Culture Policy which, with a focus on the customer and results, places people at the centre and as the engine of growth; fosters closeness, the essence of Dia, to strengthen and empower teams and stimulate authentic and responsible leadership; encourages trust, to be a simple and connected organisation; promotes recognition, development and opportunities based on the merit and contribution of people; and protects and nurtures their natural diversity with an inclusive environment, free of labels and prejudices, which guarantees equal opportunities.
“Our Dia People are at the heart of the business, and a recognition as powerful as this underlines our commitment to evolving Dia’s culture by actively listening to our employees,” states César Vázquez, HR Director at Dia Spain.
Dia Spain’s reputation has achieved continuous growth since 2020, a recognition that endorses the company’s great effort and commitment both to its customers and to the rest of its stakeholders, and the complete transformation of its business and corporate culture. The result in the Talent 2025 monitor is joined by the 74th position in the MERCO Companies 2025 ranking and the 71st position in MERCO ESG Responsibility 2025, completing a financial year that underlines the great value that the Dia business generates in the communities in which it is present.

The role of MERCO (Corporate Reputation Business Monitor) is to offer a global reference tool that evaluates and ranks the reputation of companies and leaders in Spain, Ibero-America and other markets. Since the year 2000, it has compiled the MERCO Talent ranking based on a multi-stakeholder methodology that allows for a better understanding of the aspirations of workers, and the alignment of personal and corporate values and objectives, becoming a thermometer of a company’s visibility and attractiveness.
